Rabbit r1 vs Humane AI Pin. Jesse Lyu puts them face to face

We have finally been able to see the Rabbit r1 and the Humane Ai Pin in different tests to determine the strengths and weaknesses of each one

The day has come when the war between Rabbit r1 and the Humane Ai Pin was going to come true, and Jesse Lyu has compared both devices in a 45-minute video in which he has done several search, creation and recognition tests.

We have already talked at length about the problems that the Humane AI Pin has presented when it was launched on the market and how almost unanimously, the main technological media have said that ultimately, in the state it is in, it is little more than useless.

And today a friend of Jesse's lent him the Humane Ai Pin to try and he took the opportunity to compare it in several aspects that I will detail below. I leave you the video in question so you can see it for yourself.

Rabbit r1 Vs Humane AI Pin

In the video, Jesse insists on several occasions that he tests it as a user, trying to put aside his role as CEO of Rabbit and therefore Humane's direct rival. so he subjects them to different configuration tests, searches and answers.

I'm not going to insist on the same thing I said in the AI Pin thread, but summarizing the Rabbit r1 is systematically faster, responds much more correctly and is able to find the solution in all cases, and even when he does not know what to answer.

In the video, several tests are performed to compare the functionality and performance of the Humane Ai Pin and the Rabbit r1. Here are some of the featured tests and their results:

Test response to basic commands:

Weather consultation: Both devices respond accurately, but the Rabbit r1 is slightly faster at providing the response.

Stock price inquiry (Apple): Again, both devices deliver the correct information, but the Rabbit r1 does so with a slight advantage in speed.

Specific functionality tests:

Outdoor visibility capacity: The Humane Ai Pin's display is mentioned to be negatively affected under direct sunlight, which is not ideal for readability.

Heat resistance: The AI Pin is noted to heat up significantly during prolonged use, which could be uncomfortable for the user.

Usability and user experience testing:

Interface and ease of use: The Humane Ai Pin's interface is criticized for its steep learning curve and being less intuitive compared to that of the Rabbit r1.

Vision functionality: Each device is tested for its ability to identify objects using the camera. The Rabbit r1 proves to be more efficient and faster in identifying and responding to objects compared to the Humane Ai Pin, which shows inconsistencies and slowness in its responses.

Multitasking and performance under load test:

Handling multiple tasks simultaneously: The Rabbit r1 handles multitasking better, showing less lag and more stability than the Humane Ai Pin.

Testing additional features:

Music playback: Each device's ability to play music and connect to streaming services is examined. The Rabbit r1 shows out-of-the-box support for Spotify and smoother integration compared to the Humane Ai Pin, which is limited to using Tidal via an API.

Connection to networks and devices: Both devices are tested to check how they handle network connections like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Rabbit r1 stands out for making it easy to connect to different devices and networks, while the Humane Ai Pin faces difficulties in managing connections, especially when it comes to manually configuring Wi-Fi networks.

Durability and handling tests:

Physical Durability: A physical durability test isn't specifically mentioned in the video, but the Humane AI Pin's heat management suggests implications for its long-term durability.

Ease of physical handling: The ergonomics of the devices are evaluated, especially how they feel and operate in the hand. The Rabbit r1 is described as more comfortable and manageable, while the Humane Ai Pin can be uncomfortable due to its design and the need to perform precise gestures to activate functions such as the laser pointer.

Visual functionality and object recognition tests:

Visual recognition ability: The ability of each device to recognize and respond to images and objects through its cameras is tested. The Rabbit r1 is more effective at recognizing objects quickly and accurately, in contrast to the Humane Ai Pin, which has difficulty providing consistent and accurate responses.

User experience with the visual interface: The Humane Ai Pin is tested in terms of its visual interface under different lighting conditions. Its performance is variable and often unsatisfactory under bright light, while the Rabbit r1 provides a more consistent and reliable user experience.

Overall user experience evaluation:

Ease of use and learning curve: The video highlights that the Rabbit r1 is generally easier to use from the start, with a less steep learning curve compared to the Humane Ai Pin, whose advanced functions and configurations may require more adaptation time for the user.

In general, the Rabbit r1 showed superior performance in terms of response speed, stability under heavy use, and ease of use, while the Humane Ai Pin faced challenges in terms of usability and consistency in performance.

We have a clear winner... But you already knew that.
