It is something that seems obvious, but until the time of publication it had yet to be implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately they refer us to a blog on the website itself. <a href=\"http:\/\/Rabbit.tech\">Rabbit.tech<\/a> in which they give us a series of instructions to factory reset the Rabbit r1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-instrucciones-para-restablecer-del-fabrica-el-rabbit-r1\">Instructions to factory reset the Rabbit r1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rabbit.tech\/security-advisory-071124\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">According to the security entry of July 11, 2024<\/a>, they explain the following situation to us. To begin with, until then there was no option to factory reset the Rabbit r1, which was at least something necessary from the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, the danger that a person who was not the original owner would buy the Rabbit r1 second-hand. They also talk about loss or theft of <em>gadget<\/em>, and they all <strong>These scenarios would lead to a critical security breach<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In any of these cases, <strong>the new owner could end up doing <em>jailbreak<\/em> or unlock the device giving you access to the original user&#039;s private accounts<\/strong>, with everything that entails. What a danger...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-un-ejemplo-de-como-funcionaba-hasta-ahora\">An example of how it worked until now:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I received my r1 and started using it on June 1st.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The pairing data was recorded on my device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This pairing data is used to write data to my Rabbithole journal and trigger actions like \u201cplay music\u201d or \u201corder food.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This pairing data could be used to read data from my Rabbithole journal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-1288a84e\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:url(&quot;data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg width='8' height='16' viewBox='0 0 8 16' fill='none' xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%3E%3Crect width='8' height='16' fill='black'\/%3E%3C\/svg%3E&quot;)\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I asked my r1: \u201cHow is the weather in San Francisco?\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The response, \u201cIt&#039;s 74 degrees and sunny in San Francisco,\u201d registered on my device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I sold my r1 to someone else on June 3rd.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This person could potentially jailbreak the r1 and recover the log files containing \u201cIt&#039;s 74 degrees and sunny in San Francisco\u201d and the pairing data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">As of July 11, we have made the following changes:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pairing data can no longer be used to read from Rabbithole. They can only activate actions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pairing data is no longer recorded on the device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have reduced the amount of log data that is stored on the device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Factory Reset option is now available through the settings menu. Customers should use this option to delete ALL data from their R1 before transferring ownership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-las-medidas-de-contencion-de-rabbit-sobre-este-caso\">Rabbit&#039;s containment measures on this case<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned in the entry, <strong>The security team is not aware of any users abusing this issue.<\/strong>. According to what they say, regardless of this, they have thought it convenient for us users to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, as the entry shows, <strong>A review of the thousands of interactions is being done to locate cases of misuse of this vulnerability<\/strong>, although at the moment there is no more news than those already mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So remember. If it has been stolen, you are going to sell the Rabbit r1 second-hand, you have lost it or it has been stolen, <strong>make sure to do a factory reset to avoid bigger
