Humane recalls AI Pin charging case due to fire risk

The company notifies its users via email to stop using the AI Pin Charging Chase

It seems that the Humane AI Pin does not finish booting. First were the disastrous reviews by the media specialized. After the intention to sell the entire company and with this last event that I hope is not its definitive end.

And today Humane is asking AI Pin owners to stop using the charging case that includes their AI device.immediately”. It seems that They have discovered a problem with a battery cell from a supplier that “may pose a fire safety risk”.

It is striking that the statement has arrived exclusively to the email of users who already have the AI Gadget, but at no time has it appeared—at least for now— on your website either in your X account.

The AI Pin Charging Chase problem

Humane assures that looking for a new supplier to solve the problem after getting rid of the old one. It is important to emphasize that apparently neither the charging base nor the AI Pin itself nor the "battery Booster" are affected in any way.

As a way to compensate users, Humane has decided to give two free months to the subscription service —mandatory to use the device— valued at 24$ per month to which taxes would have to be added, which are not included.

At the moment we don't know if Humane will replace the charging case, and we are waiting for them to provide more information soon about how they will end up solving the problem definitively. It's time to be patient.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are reaching out today to ask that Immediately stop using and charging your Charge Case accessory due to an issue with certain battery cells in the Charge Case accessory.

Upon receiving a single report of a charging problem while using a third-party USB-C cable and a third-party power supply, we identified a quality issue with the third-party supplied battery cell used in your Charge Case accessory.

Our research determined that the battery supplier no longer met our quality standards and that there is a possibility that certain battery cells supplied by this supplier may represent a fire safety risk.

As a result, we immediately disqualify this battery supplier while We are working to identify a new supplier to avoid such problems and maintain our high quality standards.

The identified issue is isolated to only certain battery cells used in the Charge Case accessory and not related to hardware design of the Charge Case accessory.

It is important to note that Humane's AI Pin, sus Battery Booster and the Charge Pad are not affected as the disqualified supplier does not supply batteries or any other components of those Humane products, and they are safe for continued use.

Although we know that this may cause you inconvenience, Customer safety is our priority at Humane. We designed the AI Pin and related accessories with security in mind, and rigorously tested and certified them to applicable US and international security standards.

We appreciate your understanding and we will provide you two extra months free of the Humane subscription.
