In the new Rabbit r1 update comes the "Beta Rabbit" mode, which gives us multiple, more complex responses and with much better results than until now.
The Rabbit r1 has a long way to go and of course, a lot of room for improvement - which is normal considering the state of the output. That is why This new feature may have been the biggest Until now.
This week They have surprised us with a new security update, in which they warned us of the danger of selling a second-hand Rabbit R1 and added the Factory Reset option so necessary when getting rid of the gadget.
But it also includes another usability feature that improves the responses enormously. The Beta Rabbit activates a functionality that has several enormous advantages in what will be our relationship with the Rabbit r1 and with his way of solving our doubts.
Answers to multiple questions
One of the key points of this update is that we are no longer dependent on asking the Rabbit r1 a single question. When we invoke the "Beta Rabbit", our device will enter in a much more intelligent and decisive way.
In this case, we will not have to ask you the questions one at a time, but rather just like in Perplexity Pro —one of the AI's that Rabbit relies on— can respond to multiple search intents in just one interaction.
In this way we could say:
«Beta Rabbit, I want to travel to Barcelona for 5 days. Can you tell me places to eat, the best monuments to visit and some pubs to have a beer when night falls? »
With this prompt, we are forcing Rabbit r1 to answer 3 questions in 1, also taking into account the location and length of stay in addition to the time of day. I have to try it yet, because I haven't received the device, but it could be very interesting.
Conversation mode
Beta Rabbit mode now allows the option to have a much more natural conversation with the device. This way we can enter into a question-answer conversation to reach the best possible results.
In the video below you can see perfectly the potential that this new mode has, and how when it comes to interacting with us, the Beta Rabbit asks us questions and gives us answers as a conversation to give the best result.
As we can see, the first interaction —besides the summoning of the Beta Rabbit— is quite complex, since involves the device helping her figure out which book or movie wants to read or watch today. Not easy…
As you can see, in addition to being ridiculously fast, start asking questions in the most important areas so that when the user responds, the Rabbit will give them the most appropriate response.
Some of those questions range from asking about favorite genre, preferred authors, directors or actors as well as what your mood is today, in case it would be more convenient to recommend a drama or a comedy.
At the end of the analysis and after studying the user's responses, The Rabbit R1 gives you four movie recommendations and four book recommendations, but not only the recommendation, but it gives a small synopsis and in the case of movies even their duration.
Product price comparison
In it official statement on X.com There is even an option where you can ask Beta Rabbit to compare product prices. The most striking thing about this is that the comparisons are made through direct search on the web.
This is a big leap forward, but for me it still has a long way to go. We have done some tests and with the Rabbit r1 the answer is the following:
“Beta rabbit, I want to get a Herman Miller Aeron Chair. Can you compare the price from Amazon, Ebay, Herman Miller website, any other sites and get me the best deal?”
At first it seems quite correct, and it probably is. I don't know if it is due to the type of prompt that Rabbit r1 handles internally, but the result seems somewhat brief to me.. I asked Perplexity the exact same question and they gave me a ton more information.
It is normal, since although this AI gadget works based on Perplexity —among others— Using it on a computer or smartphone will always allow you to make more queries than through the Rabbit r1. It's not bad and it's a good start.
I hope you continue along this path of experimentation to see how far you can go with the little white rabbit in its Leuctorange cage…
