From "reality to dreams" with the Rabbit r1's Magic Camera

Rabbit has included a new feature in its r1 that has come out of nowhere but has revolutionized the community's Discord and Twitter

Hundreds and hundreds of images fill the community of Rabbit r1 users. Almost all with a retro, pixelated aesthetic and with a touch vintage which in particular—it may be because of my age—I love it.

And it is that in the latest update of the Rabbit r1, in addition to the improvements in music playback, the addition of Apple Music and the fact that the R1 can now cross platforms play entire albums, they left us the Magic Camera.

What is Magic Camera

This concept was unknown and appeared overnight by surprise. Just before OTA Update on May 30, in the Discord It was Jesse Lyu who made reference to it and the first time it had been named so far.

At that time the only thing we had was a photo of Jesse's "Rabbit Hole" from May 29 with a style image pixel art of someone—with 6 fingers, by the way—holding a bottle of what looks like coconut water.

As we have seen later, the Magic Camera is a function of the Rabbit r1 that analyzes a photograph taken with the Rabbit Eye and transforms it. To do this, use a default prompt that turns photography into a retro scene.

What prompt does Rabbit use in the Magic Camera?

Well It's a secret, and at least for now it will remain that way., since part of the fun is that each image is different and we don't know how it will look after making it. Something like when we took photos with analog film.

It seems that they are going to change the prompts weekly so that they vary as the days go by. I get the feeling that they will develop different prompts to try various image styles and share the results.

Jesse put up a Discord poll about whether they should extend the duration of the current prompt, but one of the responses was that "would give the possibility of choosing the prompts» that have been used before, which is much more interesting.
