Some new videos have appeared that show a UI of the Rabbit r1 that we had not seen until now
The world of artificial intelligence in general and AI gadgets In particular, he doesn't rest a single day—tell me and the pace I write—and when it seems that there is nothing to tell, something new appears in the Rabbit R1 scene.
And today, in the Rabbit r1 Discord They have posted some videos in which they show the new interface of r1 in a way we have not seen until now, with some new features that, for me, are going to help a lot in the interaction with the device.
By the way, it doesn't sound like Jesse Liu, so I imagine it may be one of the programmers or employees who has access to the OTAs before the rest of the users.
Are updates like the 4 that have been so far They are one of the points on which the Rabbit company must work, since the latest reviews of the device are not particularly positive, and in this way they help to wash its image.
Text on the screen
Until this point, the Rabbit r1 worked like this: You asked it a question, it thought about it, and the response was in “subtitle” mode to the voice, while the image of the glamorous rabbit appeared on the screen in the background.
This means that You couldn't finish seeing the answer until the voice finished narrating it, which for my taste, was excessive, since it gives so much data - which is half good - that I spent too much time on it.
This made it quite uncomfortable to reach a conclusion on many occasions. I remember that in the community channels it was commented, but it is true that although from the staff It was said that they were going to change it, I didn't think it would be so soon.
But as I said before, those responsible for the Rabbit r1 are not willing to waste time and they have surprised us with these videos.
This has several very positive points:
On the one hand, if the answer to the question is very long—such as a recipe or an exercise routine in the example— We will be able to consult it immediately on the same device, which will make the interaction much easier.
Furthermore, I imagine—although it is not confirmed—that It will also be kept entirely in the Rabbit Hole, with which all that complete and organized information as seen in the videos will be accessible from anywhere.
For me, who wants to use the Rabbit r1 among other things as an agenda or "second brain", it will be fantastic, since it seems that the answers are going to be much more complete than they have been up to this point.
Images on the Rabbit r1
This has surprised me, and it is that we can finally do questions that return an image in response, and not only that, but we have seen how in what seems to be the next update They can even be mixed with text.
It seemed like something obvious and what we are more than used to, but it is added as a novelty in what seems to be the next update of the r1. Image search is here, or almost, waiting for it to be launched via OTA.
Furthermore, it seems that he will even be able to search for images with a vague description, as seen in the video in which he searches for Pikachu saying "the electric mouse from Pokémon"... I would like to see that with other examples.
Shutter sound and photography in Vision Mode
Sometimes the small changes are the most significant, and this case is one of those that you think about How did they not think of it before? It's been a month waiting, but I'm really glad they included that option.
In case you didn't know, in all the previous demos, when you used Vision Mode and you asked it to identify an object with the camera, you had no way of knowing when it had finished viewing the image or where you had "aimed."
This generated an obvious problem and that was the uncertainty of whether the answer I was going to give you was about the object you wanted or if perhaps you had moved the Rabbit r1 and the specific image was not identified.
As you can see, now after pressing the button and asking him, at the moment in which the Rabbit r1 takes the image capture a shutter sounds and the image appears frozen. This resolves everything we have discussed previously.
This image is the one will later appear in the Rabbit Hole so that we can save it and revisit it in case we need it later, in addition to having the analysis that the device made of it.
When will the new update be available?
Well, at the moment they haven't said anything, but it is foreseeable that there will be a new update throughout the week. For now, we have to wait patiently…
