Artificial intelligence comes to ereaders with Bigme and its new B751C model
I never thought I would talk about something like this within this humble blog, but artificial intelligence is taking over everything. This new e-book surprises with The incorporation of ChatGPT within your operating system.
- Handwriting Experience: Global handwriting function supports handwritten notes on PDF or EPUB files with many apps. Bigme B751C color e-reader is equipped with a glass panel and a stylus to give you a smooth paper-like writing experience on a digital device.
- Focus on your idea: With the unique Kaleido 3-color screen and various art and note tools, the e-Paper B751C tablet is ready to replace your paper notebook, save your stacks of paper, and help you find ideas to work on and study.
- Bigme's automatic ghosting algorithm function: less power consumption when updating, but better reading comics, browsing websites and streaming video.
But before we start trying the part that interests us most about this—perhaps— AI gadget Let's see some of its specifications as ereader/tablet to know a little more about it.
Technical specifications of the Bigme B751C
The Bigme B751C is a next-generation eReader that combines color electronic ink technology with advanced features artificial intelligence to offer a unique reading experience.
Screen
Maybe one of the highlights are its color screen, something that many users want in an ereader, especially if they are fans of reading comics or manga, since it allows a much more complete display than monochrome readers.
The Bigme B750C has a Kaleido 3 type screen that offers a resolution of 1264x1680 pixels and 300 PPI for black and white content. The color resolution is 150 PPI, more than enough for comfortable reading.
In addition, the screen has a removal system ghosting prepared to prevent traces of previous images from remaining on electronic ink screens (e-ink). This option has several levels.
Processor, Operating System and connectivity
This device has a Octa-Core processor running up to 2.3GHz and as an operating system it comes with Android 11 with a layer of customization and applications from the Bigme brand.
Furthermore, in terms of connectivity, The B751C comes standard with both 2.4 and 5Ghz Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth to be able to connect, for example, True Wireless headphones and listen to music while reading your favorite books.
Capacity, battery and accessories
Regarding the memory of B751C we can say that the base has 64GB of capacity, expandable up to 1Tb through the MicroSD card slot that it incorporates, which is truly outrageous considering how much ebooks take up.
Regarding the battery, It has a capacity of 2300mAh, which will give us days and days if we use it as a book reader, but will suffer when using the Artificial Intelligence or navigation options, lasting somewhat less.
On its official website You can only purchase the ereader or the version that includes the case and the stylus —for me essential— for a small price difference, and you can also opt for a discount of a 5% these days.
Measurements and weight
Length: | 136.2mm |
Broad: | 155mm |
Thickness: | 7mm |
Weight: | 212g |
Applications
One of the advantages it has is that when using Free Android, you can have any application you want, since it has the Play Store installed from the start, so you can have your favorite book or comic reader no matter what it is.
Furthermore, it allows applications like TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. Of course, keep in mind the limitations of an electronic ink screen and that its behavior in videos will never be like that of a mobile phone.
Artificial intelligence in the Bigme B751C
Since we have seen some of the specifications, we are going to focus on the part that I am most interested in studying here, which is none other than the operation and incorporation of artificial intelligence on an e-book reader.
ChatBot
Comes with ChatGPT as standard, to whom you can ask whatever you want. Initially it came with access to version 3.5, but after the last update we will be able to use version 4.0 of this language model. Hopefully it will be updated later.
The Bigme B751B uses the ChatGPT API, allowing us to use this LLM to ask questions just as we would with our mobile phone or computer. It really works very well and is capable of responding in an ideal way.
Image maker
This e-book reader also has a built-in image creator through artificial intelligence. In this case I don't know if it corresponds to Dall.E or some other generator. It doesn't seem particularly fast, but maybe we can get some use out of it.
Note taking with AI summary
One of the artificial intelligence specifications that I like the most is precisely that just as the Limitless Pendant You can record the conversations we have in meetings or talks, but it doesn't end there.
This ereader through its AI It is capable of transcribing the audio and making a summary with the most important parts, so we will not have to review all the audio or text to look for something specific. It's really useful.
- Handwriting Experience: Global handwriting function supports handwritten notes on PDF or EPUB files with many apps. Bigme B751C color e-reader is equipped with a glass panel and a stylus to give you a smooth paper-like writing experience on a digital device.

My opinion on the 7″ Bigme B751C
This is where the most personal part comes in and I can say this after more than 100 days of use. Summing up a lot, in my opinion It is absolutely perfect for my personal use and I think it will be for many for the following reasons:
It has the perfect size as an e-reader, 7″
Both the aspect ratio, the shape and the way it fits in my hand seem absolutely perfect to me. I find it comfortable to read sitting or lying down. and the screen is big enough that you wouldn't miss more size.
It is true that I came from a 6″, so I have gained in terms of screen. Perhaps an 8″ would have been fine and Surely other readers like them bigger., but for me it has been a leap forward in terms of size.
It's not heavy at all
As I say, with its 212 grams It is not uncomfortable even when using it lying down in bed or on the sofaIt can be handled perfectly without being uncomfortable, as has happened to me with some tablets or the Microsoft Surface itself.
It's in color, which adds a layer to the comics and manga experience.
Admittedly, the color screen is not the best in the world, although let's be clear, the price is quite well compensated. If you are looking for a higher quality color screen you should go for a Boox, knowing that you have to put in another 100 or 200€.
For me, who is not used to color e-readers, it is more than enough and It has given me the urge to read manga/comics which until now had to do with larger and more cumbersome devices.
Accessories: The case and the pencil that allows me to take notes
This is another of the specifications that I absolutely wanted. I wanted to have a pencil, interact with the books, take notes and underline, and write whatever I wanted while I was reading. I know it's not comparable to doing it physically, but you know what I mean...
One of the things I liked most about writing and the pen was that with a couple of clicks you can use OCR and convert handwritten lines into straight lines, make geometric shapes or even convert your handwritten text to typewritten text. I love it.
Don't expect the writing to be a blast, though. It's fine for small notes or pointing. It doesn't have the Wacom system, nor is it as sensitive as an iPad. It's usable, and with practice you'll get the hang of it, but it's not good if you're constantly taking notes. Keep that in mind.
Incorporates artificial intelligence
I like this more as a curiosity than as a useful thing. It has AI systems to create images, transcribe text and identify voicesIt all sounds great, and it works relatively well, actually. But we all have a mobile phone in our hands.
You'll probably find an app that works better, faster, or smoother than it does on this eReader. As before, it may be useful for a specific use case, but I doubt I'll use it on a continuous basis.
It has Wifi and BT for headphones, keyboard
I have Bluetooth headphones connected specifically for reading. Why? Well, because I can have Spotify on while I read and I have to say that it works perfectly in the background, with access to the controls in 2 touches.
This way I can do without my mobile while I read and have the music directly on the Bigme. Essential for me.
It has Android and all the applications
Even with the limitations of an ebook reader like this, being able to have all the applications I need like Readera or comic book readers makes it much more versatile and comfortable to use the Bigme. It doesn't lack anything.
Its price
For me it is the ideal e-book reader, but the price is one of the points to consider when saying that phrase. It cost me a little less than €300. with accessories, and at that time there was a difference of about €200 with the closest alternative from other brands.
