Just 2 days after the first update, Rabbit launches its second OTA for the Rabbit r1
It seems that Rabbit is getting its act together and hasn't missed a week to launch its second update via Over-The-Air after the first one that solved a fairly serious bug which was excessive battery consumption for no apparent cause.
In a company Tweet which was then returned to Jesse Lyu, CEO of Rabbit, and through Discord They announced that today, May 2, they were launching their second operating system update.
What does the new Rabbit r1 update include?
In this minor update, it seems that they have tried to correct some annoying bugs but that apparently have been easy to solve, improving the user experience with some changes in fundamental aspects.
Improved two-way translation and bug fixes
It looks like they are debugging bidirectional translation. In some of the demos we have seen they failed to translate some languages. Maintaining this point seems essential to me. since I think it may be what we can get the most out of.
GPS location services enhanced with AGPS
This was a point that some users have also pointed out and that is that the GPS was working relatively well, but it was sometimes wrong when it came to identifying the position to recommend, for example, a specific place.
Improved weather/weather related experience
It seemed to work well for me, so these will have been minor fixes.
Reduction of LLM hallucinations
Language models continue to fail, hallucinate or invent information. It is "fairly normal" and that is why I always recommend not fully trusting what the Rabbit r1 or any device of this style tells us.
If they have improved or in this case reduced the hallucinations of the language models involved in dealing with r1, great. Anything that adds reliability to artificial intelligence gadgets will always be welcome.
My opinion on the Rabbit r1 updates
I still think the same thing and that is that the R1 is a device that, although it has come out with some limitations, It has absolutely enormous potential. to become a reference in terms of how we relate to artificial intelligence.
If they continue to take care of the community in this way, releasing updates often - there has been talk of one every two weeks on a regular basis - and improving day by day, I'm sure all the criticism you're getting will eventually dissipate..
