This is how the Rabbit r1's note recording mode works

One of the strong points of the Rabbit r1 will be the possibility of recording, editing and summarizing the audio that we give it through its microphones.

We came to see very recently the PLAUD NOTE, a card-shaped device which allows you to record voice notes or phone calls and later transcribe them and even summarize them through artificial intelligence.

And as I was writing the article I realized that recently Jesse Lyu, the CEO of Rabbit Inc uploaded a video doing just that: showing how the r1 was capable of listening, recording and uploading to the Rabbit Hole the audio to later transcribe it. Here I leave it to you.

In this case, the Rabbit r1 starts recording after the command “start recording the meeting”. It is at that moment that the gadget it starts up and, even without pressing the button, you can see how the recording is still going on.

According to him, he has done several tests for several minutes until reaching up to an hour of continuous recording and the result has been satisfactory. In particular I'm a little worried about the battery life, but we will see how it develops.

At the moment when we finish recording and press the button again STOP to end recording, we can go directly to our Rabbit Hole section, in which we can see the sound wave of our recording.

If you look closely at the left side, you will see how all the activities that we have done with our Rabbit r1 appear, separated by days as a diary. It was already something we discussed previously in this post.

What we can see from the recording at the Rabbit Hole

In the Rabbit Hole we can see:

  • The title of the recording.
  • The date and time.
  • The author.
  • The prompt that was used —start a meeting recording
  • The sound wave.
  • Playback controls and fast forward or reverse audio
  • The summary.

It seems incredible to me that the Rabbit r1 is capable of doing this, since the PLAUD NOTE apart from the 159$ device —remember that the r1 costs only 40$ more— requires an annual subscription of almost €80 for summaries.

I still wonder if he is able to transcribe everything word by word or if he simply makes a summary and nothing more. I guess we will have to wait for it to reach the first users to confirm it..

Editing the transcript in the RABBIT HOLE

What does seem to be confirmed is that the Rabbit Hole will allow us to edit, download, delete or add content to the summary, so that we can create scripts, summaries or the most complete ideas, and also since it is through a website, we can do it anywhere.

This makes a lot of sense if we talk about the concept of «second brain» so fashionable today and that encourages us to take notes and organize everything that comes to mind at all times. I genuinely believe that I will never forget anything again.
