Well, perhaps it is not the definitive instruction manual that will reach our homes —and I highly doubt it will be published in Spanish— but I will try to translate it and try to decipher if there is anything new with respect to what we already know.

This Rabbit R1 "instruction manual" seems more like a kind of guide for manufacturers to carry out tests and tests before the final release arrives. However, I love having a little more background information..

From the web https://fccid.io/2BFB4R1 The new images of the tests that have been applied to the Rabbit R1 and on which this manual is based, which I understand is precisely to be able to carry out these tests, have been leaked.

I'm not going to entertain you and let's get down to business.

Rabbit R1 Instruction Manual

Operations Manual r1

Welcome to device r1. This manual is designed to provide an overview of the physical operations of the device, allowing factories to create test procedures accordingly.

Input Methods

The r1 device offers three physical input options for versatile operation:

  • Gray Side Button (hereinafter referred to as "the button"): Simplifies operations with a single, multi-use button.
  • Front Sliding Wheel (hereinafter referred to as “the wheel”): Easy navigation and precise control.
  • Touch Screen (hereinafter referred to as "the screen"): Intuitive interaction at your fingertips.

Additionally, the device supports rotation and shaking actions, along with physical feedback through haptic vibrations.

Fastboot mode

Entry into Fastboot mode is achieved using a specific key combination on the device. Mode and flashing of production devices is done using the factory software flashing tool.

Switched on

Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to turn on the device from a power off state.

Wake up screen

  • Tap the button to wake up the screen.
  • The screen can also be woken up through a background app or task.

Voice Input

  • Press and hold the button to activate the microphone to record audio (push-to-talk mode); The button must be held for 250 milliseconds before the microphone is activated.
  • Release the button to disable the microphone and stop recording.

Camera Activation

  • Double-tap the button to activate the camera and rotate it to face back.
  • When the camera is active, double-tap the button to turn off the camera and rotate it down.
  • While the camera is active, use the slider to change the camera orientation from front to rear and vice versa.
  • With the camera active, tapping the button captures a photo.
  • When the camera is active, holding the button activates push-to-talk mode without affecting camera operations.

Volume Adjustment

In all states, holding the button allows the slider to adjust the volume of the device.

Device Rotation

  • Device rotation is detected by the UI, displaying a virtual keyboard and a text input component. This is activated when the device is rotated to position the slider wheel below the screen.

Screen Sleep

  • Without user input, the screen will sleep/turn off after a set number of seconds, configurable by the user through device settings.
  • The app can keep the screen awake (maintain a wake lock) as needed to display video and while voice responses are playing.

Turn off the device

  • The device is turned off through an option in the device's software settings.

Shake the Device

  • Shaking the device launches the Settings app and wakes up the screen; The shaking threshold should be set to ensure that the device is not activated through normal use or transportation.

This manual provides you with a basic guide to operating the R1 device. Please familiarize yourself with each function as described in the guide to fully utilize the capabilities of your R1 device.

In principle, this Rabbit R1 instruction manual does not give much more information about the device that we have not already shown in different demos. We knew that it will consist of a screen, camera and side button.

In fact, videos have even been shown showing how Settings menu opens when you shake the gadget, which Jesse already showed in a video from a few days ago in one of the demos he uploaded to Discord.

Apparently you have to turn it off through software, since although the button is used to turn it on, once in operation, pressing it will have other functions such as activating the voice or simply the camera's view mode.

Soon—in less than two weeks—we should see a huge number of demonstrations and reviews of the Rabbit R1 that will clear up any doubts we may have about what it will be able to do. We'll be keeping an eye out.
